MSA issued a User Safety Notice to inform customers that MSA has received field reports of a limited number of Latchways Standard Self-Retracting Lifelines (SRL) in which some internal bolts came loose. MSA has not received any reports of injuries associated with this condition; however, it may lead to window of time in which a fall may not be arrested.
University units with Latchways Standard SRL should review the part number(s) and manufacturing dates to identify affected equipment. Latchways Standard SRL with a part number listed in the User Safety Notice and a manufacturing date from 05/2020 through 12/2020 should be removed from service and returned to MSA for rework.
