Automated External Defibrillators
Automated external defibrillators deliver an electrical shock that allows the heart to reestablish its proper rhythm.
Electrical Safety
Know the hazards electricity poses, such as shock, fire and explosion, and either eliminate or control those hazards.
Building Emergency Procedures and Resources
EH&S provides information and tools for building coordinators and organizational units to prepare for emergency building evacuations.
Building Evacuations and Fire Drills
Fire drills help building occupants prepare to respond to a variety of building emergencies.
Capital Safety Projects
EH&S funds capital projects to improve safety-related building elements and safety systems to mitigate occupational and environmental hazards.
Facilities Projects Support
The Facilities Projects Support Program provides review, consultation and testing for construction projects.
Fire Code Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Compliance
The use of chemicals on campus must comply with the hazardous materials provisions of the International Fire Code that limits quantities and dictates requirements for proper storage, use and dispensing.
Fire Department Permits for Events
A permit from your local fire department may be required when hosting certain campus events.
Fire Safety and Prevention
EH&S helps assure compliance with local fire codes and the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act, protect and promote public safety on campus.
Fire Safety Right-to-Know
EH&S’s Building & Fire Services team documents and shares fire incident reports with the campus community for fire safety education and to prevent future incidents.
Hot Work
Hot work operations use an open flame or generate sparks and can be dangerous, especially in areas where flammable or combustible materials are present.
