Biohazardous Waste

EH&S provides information and resources to identify, package and properly decontaminate biohazardous waste.

Biological Research Approval

Biological Use Authorization is the process for reviewing and approving research involving biohazards including recombinant or synthetic DNA/RNA.

Biological Research Safety

The Biological Safety program ensures that work with biohazards is performed safely from start to finish.

Biological Safety Cabinets

Biological safety cabinets are used to protect personnel, products and the environment from exposure to biohazards and cross contamination.

Select Agent Program

The Federal Select Agent Program regulates all work with select agents and toxins, including possession, use and transfer.

Sharps and Lab Glass Waste

Follow best practices for safe handling and disposal of sharps and potentially contaminated lab glass and plastic waste.

Viral Vectors for Gene Transfer

Learn about biosafety concerns and other information about viral vectors commonly used in biological research.
