Fire Extinguisher Training Hands-On

Intended audience

This course is required for University personnel whose job duties include the use of fire extinguishers to extinguish fires. Retraining for these personnel is required annually.

This course is recommended for University personnel who work with flammable, pyrophoric, reactive materials, as well as those in laboratory settings, kitchens, hot work environments, and shops.

Description

This course teaches how to use a portable fire extinguisher. Participants use a realistic training extinguisher to practice the PASS method on a simulated fire. Individuals must complete the Fire Extinguisher Training Online course before participating in hands-on training.
