Intended audience
This course is recommended for University personnel who use cranes, hoists, chain-falls, or other equipment to lift loads.
Description
This course teaches how to safely rig loads that will be moved by cranes, hoists, or other equipment. This includes planning a lift, inspecting and selecting slings, determining a load's weight, using a sling angle chart, and working with a qualified crane operator. Separate training is required for qualified crane operators who are responsible for overseeing safe rigging.
