Outdoor Heat Safety Training Online
Intended audience
This course is required for University personnel who are assigned outdoor work activities as well as supervisors of employees assigned outdoor work activities. Retraining is required annually.
Description
This course covers the signs and symptoms of heat-related illnesses, risk factors for heat-related illness, and how to protect yourself when working outdoors.
Personnel are required to complete this training initially and annually during compensated work hours. EH&S is available to answer questions about this training Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by calling (206) 543-7388.
In addition to this training, supervisors must complete an Outdoor Heat Safety Plan and share it with personnel before outdoor work activities begin. Requirements for specific action level temperatures are listed on the Outdoor Heat Exposure webpage.
