Laser Worker Safety Training - Online
This course is required for University personnel who work with or may be exposed to electromagnetic radiation produced by a Class 3B or Class 4 laser. This may include principal investigators, students, fellows, lab managers, or research staff. This course is required for principal investigators of labs that use Class 3B or Class 4 lasers.
This course teaches the fundamentals of lasers including their hazards, characteristics, risks to the eyes and skin, and recommended safe work practices to minimize these risks. It also covers UW-specific roles and responsibilities for laser operators, emergency procedures, and UW-specific resources.
