Laser Worker Safety Training Online
Intended audience
This course is required initially for University personnel who work with or may be exposed to electromagnetic radiation produced by a Class 3B or Class 4 laser. This may include principal investigators, students, fellows, lab managers, or research staff.
Description
This course teaches the fundamentals of lasers including their hazards, characteristics, risks to the eyes and skin, and recommended safe work practices to minimize these risks. It also covers University of Washington-specific roles and responsibilities for laser operators, emergency procedures, and University of Washington-specific resources.
