Intended audience

This course is required for University personnel (such as Principal Investigators, laboratory managers, research staff, fellows, and students) whose work or research includes potential exposure to recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules or other biohazardous agents. Training is required initially, and retraining is required every three (3) years.


This course teaches the review and approval process for using biohazardous agents; practices, safety equipment, and facility design required to ensure safety in laboratories conducting research with recombinant DNA and other biohazardous agents; and roles and responsibilities of persons conducting such research.
