Washington State food code sets standards for management and personnel, food operations, equipment and facilities. EH&S conducts food establishment plan reviews to ensure that the establishment meets state and federal regulations.
The Mobile Food Unit Policy and Guidelines apply to mobile food units (a readily movable food establishment, such as a food truck) serving food at UW locations.
All plans for new and remodeled food service establishments must be submitted to EH&S for review and approval. Complete a Food Establishment Plan Review Application for a permanent food service establishment plan review only and submit it to the EH&S Environmental Public Health team at phdept@uw.edu.
University departments and units must follow the guidance in the Installing Equipment, Furnishings and Fixtures in UW Buildings Focus Sheet to avoid potential exposures to regulated building materials.
