Water Testing

EH&S collaborates with campus partners to maintain water quality for consumption and use on campus. We conduct pool and spa inspections and can arrange for testing of drinking water as needed for safety concerns.

Chemotherapy & Hazardous Drugs

Drugs are classified as hazardous if they may cause cancer, developmental or reproductive toxicity or harm to organs at low doses. They include drugs used for cancer chemotherapy (also called antineoplastics), antiviral drugs, hormones, some bioengineered drugs and other various drugs.

Check the NIOSH List of Antineoplastic and Other Hazardous Drugs in Healthcare Settings (2014) to determine if a drug is classified as hazardous.

Pest Control and Wildlife Resources

The EH&S Environmental Public Health Program responds to concerns about pests and nuisance wildlife (such as raccoons and nutria), as well as reports of injured, sick or dead animals on campus. We respond to requests for assistance through pest control contractors, who serve the Seattle campus during the work week and are available for emergency situations.
