Recycling computer monitors and televisions

Do not throw away your old computer monitor or television. Monitors (except LDC monitors) and TVs contain several pounds of lead, which is environmentally hazardous.

Whether it is in good condition, no longer working, smashed up, and/or older than the hills, you must recycle or dispose of your monitor or TV through UW Surplus Property. They will either resell it or, if it is beyond hope, they will dispose of the lead inside properly and recycle the materials for you.
